What Is a Follower Account

A follower account is your own trading account set to repeat a provider's trades at your size: it keeps your money and your broker, gives up the choice of what to trade and when, and keeps three settings, the copy size, a cap and a stop switch. This paper shows the account as a trailer behind a car, one real EURUSD trade on the provider's ticket and on the follower's, the three settings with example values, and the Signals tab where an account is subscribed and unsubscribed. After reading it you can say what a follower account controls and what it does not, and find the three settings on your platform.

A follower account, in five lines

A follower account is your own trading account when it is set to repeat another account's trades at your size. It keeps your money, your broker and your login; the provider never touches any of them. It gives up the choice of what to trade and when, which come from the provider. It decides how big each copy is, a cap on that size, and when to stop copying. One real trade runs through this paper. The provider buys 1.00 lot, the unit a trade is sized in, of EURUSD at 1.16526 at 10:00 on 25 August 2026 and closes at 1.16695 at 18:00: 16.9 pips, 169.00 dollars. The follower's copy of 0.10 lot, filled a pip later, makes 16.80.

A trailer behind a car

Picture a trailer hitched to a car. The car is the provider's account, choosing the route. The trailer is your account, going where the car goes, carrying its own load at its own size. The hitch is the subscription: while it holds, the car turns and the trailer turns, the car stops and the trailer stops, and you can unhitch at any time. What the trailer never does is steer, and what the car never does is carry the trailer's load.
