PAMM vs MAM vs Copy Trading

A PAMM pools money and splits results, a MAM keeps money apart and splits orders, and copy trading keeps money apart and repeats trades a second later; the trade is the same, and what differs is where the money sits, who sets the size, when the copy is placed and how the fee is shaped. This paper shows the three as lanes from one desk, a six-question table of the mechanism, one real EURUSD trade on three tickets with example fees, and where each route lives on your side. After reading it you can name which route an arrangement is from its screen, and say what that route decides for you and what it leaves to you.

Three routes, in five lines

There are three ways one trader's trade reaches other people's money. In a PAMM the money is pooled into one account and the result is split in percents. In a MAM the money stays in each investor's own account and one order is cut into slices, one per account, before it is placed. In copy trading the money stays apart too, and the trade is described, sent and placed again a second later at each follower's size. Who sizes differs: the manager, the rule, or the follower's own settings. The trade is the same in all three, the real EURUSD trade of 25 August 2026 from 1.16526 to 1.16695, and a tenth of a lot, the unit a trade is sized in, is 16.90 on every route.

Three lanes

Picture three lanes from one desk. The gold lane is a PAMM, a pool: the money travels to the desk and the results travel back in percents. The blue lane is a MAM, a manifold: the order travels to the money, cut into slices on the way. The green lane is copy trading, a relay: the trade is described, sent and placed again on each follower's account. The desk is the same. The lane decides whether the money comes to the trader, or the trade goes to the money, and that one difference is behind every line of the table that follows.
