How to Trade With a Full-Time Job

Trading with a full-time job means the order carries the whole plan, so that the trade can open and close while you are somewhere else. This paper shows you a real pending order placed on the evening of 16 December 2025 with its stop and target attached, which waited six working days and then filled and closed on 24 December while the trader was at work; the idea as a slow cooker with the lid left on; the order waiting on the daily chart; the order as a net set in the evening and read in the morning; and the pending row on your platform.

One trade placed in the evening

An order that carries the whole plan lets the trade happen while you are somewhere else. On the evening of 16 December 2025 a pending order was placed to buy the euro against the dollar at 1.18040, that day's high, at 0.40 lot, where 1 pip is 4 dollars, with a stop 25 pips under and a target 50 pips over attached. A pending order is an order that waits at a price. For six working days the price never reached it and there was nothing to do. On 24 December it filled at 03:30 and the stop closed it at 16:45, minus 100, with the trader at work for all of it. The result was read in the evening. Nothing was decided during the day, because nothing was left to decide.

A slow cooker

Picture a slow cooker. It is set in the morning, on low, for eight hours, and the lid stays on; lifting it to check only lets the heat out, and the cooking is done by the time and the setting, not by the cook standing over it. A pending order with its stop and target attached is a slow cooker. The setting is the plan, written in the evening; the time is the working day; and the lid staying on is the trader not opening the platform from the office, because there is nothing under the lid that a look would improve and several things a look would spoil.
