Who these terms are with

These terms are an agreement between you and Trading Papers, which runs thetradingpapers.com. By using the site or opening an account you accept them; if you do not, please do not use the site. How we handle your personal data is set out in our privacy policy.

Education, not advice

Everything on this site — the papers, courses, quizzes, exams, placement test, learning path, certificates and the MT5 Coach — is general education. None of it is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and none of it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. We do not know your circumstances and are not licensed to advise you on them. The decisions you make about trading, and their results, are yours alone.

The risk of trading

Trading currencies, gold, indices, crypto and other leveraged products can lose you money quickly. You can lose everything you put in, and with some products more than that. Most people who trade leveraged products lose money. The examples in the papers use real past prices to show how something works; past prices do not tell you what prices will do next.

Your account

You must be at least 18 to open an account. An account is for one person: do not share it or its password. Use an email address you control — it is how you sign in and how we reach you. You are responsible for what is done through your account, and you should tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.

The placement test and learning path

The placement test suggests where to start in the library, and the learning path is built from your answers. They are a study guide, not an assessment of whether trading suits you, and not advice.

What is free and what is paid

Anyone can browse the library, read the page about each paper and course, and take the placement test. Reading a paper, downloading its PDF, taking a course, following your learning path and downloading the MT5 Coach are paid for in one of these ways:

Premium opens every paper and its PDF, every course with its quizzes, final exam and certificate, your learning path and the MT5 Coach, for as long as your Premium runs. A single paper opens that paper on the site and as a PDF, with no end date. A single course opens its papers, its quizzes, its final exam and its certificate, with no end date. The MT5 Coach gives you the Coach file and its updates, with no end date.

Prices

Prices are shown in US dollars on the plans page and on each item, and the price shown when you buy is the price you pay. If your country charges tax on the purchase, we tell you the amount before you pay. A change of price never affects something you have already paid for.

How buying works today

Card payment is not open yet. For now you buy by email: write to us from the address on your account and name the item. We reply with how to pay, and when the payment arrives we switch the item on in that account. When card payment opens, this section will change, and the date at the bottom of this page will show it.

How long Premium lasts

Premium runs for the month or the year you paid for, from the day it is switched on. It does not renew by itself: to keep it, you pay for another period. When Premium ends, the papers, courses, learning path and Coach download it opened close again. Your progress, quiz results and certificates stay in your account, and anything you bought on its own stays open.

Refunds

Papers, courses and the Coach are digital and open as soon as we switch them on, so once something is open in your account we do not refund it, except when it does not work and we cannot fix it, when it is not what its page described, or when you were charged twice. Write to us within 14 days of paying. Nothing here takes away a right to cancel or to a refund that the law of your country gives you.

What you may do with what you buy

What you open is licensed to you personally, not sold to you. You may read it, download the PDFs, keep them and print them for your own study. You may not share your account or the files, post them publicly, sell them, put them into a course or shared folder of your own, or feed them to a service that reproduces them, including for training AI. Quoting a short passage with the paper's title and our name is fine.

The MT5 Coach

The Coach is a program, an Expert Advisor, for MetaTrader 5. It is licensed for your own use on the terminals you use yourself; do not share the file. It shows exercises, a journal, levels, tools and your progress, and it has no function that opens, changes or closes a trade. You install it and allow its web address in MetaTrader's settings yourself, and you run it at your own risk. We do not promise that it works with every broker, every version of MetaTrader or every computer. A Coach that comes with Premium may be used while your Premium runs.

Certificates

A certificate states that its holder completed the papers, quizzes and final exam of a course on Trading Papers, or the courses a level asks for. It is not a professional qualification, a licence or an accreditation, and it does not show that anyone is able or allowed to trade or to advise others. The name on it is the one you enter, and it must be your own. We may cancel a certificate that was earned by someone else or by cheating.

Partner brokers

Some brokers give the Trading Papers academy free to their clients, and we show links to them. Those links are the brokers' referral links, and brokers pay us for the academy they offer. Opening an account with a broker is your own decision and an agreement between you and that broker. We are not part of it, and we are not responsible for the broker's services, its conditions or what happens in your trading account. Before you open an account anywhere, check that the broker is regulated where you live.

Our content

The papers, charts, drawings, covers, courses, quizzes, certificates, the MT5 Coach and the site itself belong to Trading Papers or are licensed to us, and they are protected by copyright. These terms give you only the rights they state.

Mistakes, changes and availability

We work to get every paper right, but we do not promise that every paper is free of errors, that the site or the Coach will always be available, or that anything you learn here will make you money. When a mistake is shown to us, we correct it. We may add, change or remove papers, courses and features. If we stop offering Premium or the service as a whole, we tell account holders by email in advance.

Limits on our liability

We are not liable for trading losses, lost profits, or any decision you make with what you learned here. If we are found liable to you for anything else, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Closing an account

You can ask us to close your account at any time by writing from the address on it. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms — for example one that is shared, or one used to pass papers on to others. If we close an account for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the unused part of any Premium you paid for.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The date at the bottom of the page shows the last change. If a change affects something you have paid for, we tell account holders by email before it applies. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
