What Is cTrader

cTrader is a trading program from 2011 made by Spotware and handed out by some brokers, showing the same prices, charts and trades as MetaTrader with a different layout, a Depth of Market window as standard, volume written in units, and a language of its own. This paper shows you cTrader in five lines; the idea as two keyboard layouts with the same letters in different places; the window and its five panes; the volume box, where 10,000 units is 0.10 lot and 11,653.50 dollars' worth at the real 10:00 price of 25 August 2026; and the cTrader ID login on your platform.

cTrader, in five lines

cTrader is a trading program from 2011 made by Spotware, which some brokers hand out beside or instead of MetaTrader. It shows the same things, prices, charts and your trades, and carries orders to the same broker. What differs is the layout, a Depth of Market window as standard, trade volume written in units as well as lots, and a programming language of its own based on C#. It runs on Windows, Mac, the web and the phone, all under one cTrader ID. It is not MetaTrader: a program written for one does not run in the other.

Two keyboard layouts

Picture two keyboard layouts. The letters are the same on both; a few have moved, and those are the blue keys. A typist sitting down at the second keyboard writes the same words, slower for a week while the fingers relearn where A and W and M are, and then at the same speed as before. That is what cTrader is to someone who knows MetaTrader. The market, the broker and the trade are the same letters; the order window, the trade list and the menus are keys that moved.
