How to Use an Economic Calendar Tool

An economic calendar tool wraps the public list of scheduled releases in three settings, a filter for currencies and importance, a time zone, and a reminder, so that a hundred rows a week become the few you trade around, shown in your own hour. This paper shows you the tool in five lines; the idea as a colander; the filter panel filled in; the week of 31 August to 4 September 2026 through the filter, with each row's hour in the chart feed's clock and in London's; and the calendar inside MetaTrader 5 and TradingView on your platform, with Show on chart.

A calendar tool, in five lines

An economic calendar tool is the program or page that wraps the public list of scheduled releases in three settings. The filter: tick the currencies you trade and the importance marks you care about, and the rest hides. The clock: set the time zone once, and every row shows in your own hour. The reminder: a bell on a row sends a notice a few minutes before the time. The columns are previous, forecast and actual, and the last is blank until the minute. The list is the same everywhere; the tool is what makes it yours.

A colander

Picture a colander. The whole pot is poured in, the water runs out through the holes, and what you wanted stays in the bowl. A week's calendar has a hundred releases from twenty countries, and the filter in the tool is the colander: the currencies you trade and the importance marks you care about stay, and the rest drains. What is left is the six or eight rows you would have looked for anyway, without the looking.
